and Your Need for Speed Effective with Orders February 2, 2002 There is no doubt that shipping rates continue to increase; the U.S. Postal Service had TWO increases in 2001, and is about to raise First Class rates another almost 10%. For years I have used the Postal Service, shipping 90% of the literature and instruction manuals that you order by Insured First Class (and Priority) Mail. My basic charges have been $4.00 for most orders for a single instruction manual, and $5.00 for two or more manuals, with adjustments upwards for insured value or weight. Can I guarantee a delivery date? No Can you track the package? No Can you call the Post Office and find out where it is? No IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE! Effective with orders placed beginning February 2, 2002, I will be using UPS Second Day Air services: --UPS guarantees two-day (business days) delivery (or you don't pay for the shipping) --UPS tracks the package --YOU (and I) can track the package --UPS automatically e-mails you a confirmation of pick-up, day of delivery, and tracking number (as long as I remember to put your e-mail address in the system) And all this for just $1.00 increase in my basic shipping charges to you. My basic shipping charge will rise from $4.00 to $5.00 effective with orders placed beginning February 2, 2002 (even if I stuck with the Post Office, I would have to raise my fees when they raise their rates in June, so this seems like a great deal!) All you have to remember is to provide a STREET ADDRESS for delivery, and your e-mail address for confirmation. I hope you like this change. The fine print: applies only to domestic US orders that ship flat and fit into the standard UPS 9-1/2x12-1/2" letter-designated shipping envelope. Alaska and Hawaii not included in this rate structure. P.O. Box addresses not included in this price structure. Other orders will continue to receive my individual attention with regard to shipping charges. ##################### |
