Between major site integrations, new items will appear on my New Acquisitions pages Back to Photographical Index Page Nicholson & Reiff DeKalb, Illinois An outstanding cabinet card of a young man posed with his view camera. Whether or not he is actually associated with the studio is unknown, but I think we can assume he might be. The camera is a square-bellows camera of the 1880's-1890's period, equipped with a Darlot landscape lens. In one hand the photographer holds a watch, to time the exposure; in the other hand he holds the lens cap. The card bears the imprint of the studio of Nicholson & Reiff, DeKalb, Illinois. The image has a few miniscule abrasions, but is still a dynamic image. $300.00 |
